Property Management company is searching for an experienced Leasing Agent/Office Assistant with direct experience in the lease-up process with multi-family assets. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of leasing experience at apartment buildings, including oversight of the marketing process and a background of fostering and maintaining positive resident relations.

Duties and Responsibilities for a Leasing Agent/Office Assistant

  • Greet prospective residents and show units
  • Helps in answering all in-coming calls and telephone inquiries, handles in-coming & out-going mails and emails in a timely manner
  • Maintains traffic reports, daily use of guest cards and call backs
  • Review applications ensuring that they are accurate and legible
  • Run credit reports adhering to current policies
  • Do the move-in/move-out physical process including walk-thru with residents
  • Responsible for the lease renewals
  • Assist Property Office Manager with projects as needed
  • Maintains positive relationships with prospects, residents, vendors and fellow employees
  • Computer literate and proficient in scanning, emailing, printing, and faxing.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Show apartments, screen tenants, prepare leases, move-in/move-out process, schedule maintenance work orders, property inspections, and conduct open houses.
  • Receiving/process rent check payments
  • Monthly AR’s / Rent Collections
  • Review A/R delinquency reports and coordinate with corporate in clearing of unapplied credit and prepayment transactions.
  • Making and serving 3-day notices once rent is past due
  • Reaching out to tenants (calling and/or emailing) to request payments for any delinquent accounts
  • Monthly update and coordinate with corporate for any unpaid accounts with 3-day notices who needs to be sent to attorney.
  • Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with an upbeat and friendly personality.
  • Persuasive communication, time management, marketing, and sales skills. This position requires scouting potential clients and turning them into actual ones to achieve high occupancy rates.
  • Knowledge of computers and relevant software application
  • Prior sales, marketing or customer service experience
  • 10-key, typing and multi-line phone experience.
  • Great attitude and high amount of flexibility
  • Must be available to work 6 days a week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 per year
